Wednesday Wonder

So I've been wondering...does anyone notice that extra entries for contests aren't exactly beneficial? Think about it. If anyone can get the extra entries, it doesn't actually up your chances. It just means you're doing more work to have the same amount of chances as everyone else. On the other hand, it means the harder you work, the better your chances for reward. And that, my friends, is capitalism.

I'm wondering for the book you notice that you read WAY MORE now that you blog? I was keeping a list of books I've read, because I wanted to read 50 books in a year. In the months of January-June, I read a total of 9 non-school related books. Pitiful. In only half of July and little more than half of August, I've read 10 non-school related books. And that is while I'm in the clutches of summer homework. That's at least a 60% increase. Just sayin'.

I think they are beneficial because so many people don't take the time to do extra entries. I usually do them.

And I actually find I read less now that I blog - which kind of makes blogging hard. :) But I am trying to figure out a way to balance blogging, reading, school, and work better - it is definitely work!

I have definitely been reading more now that I've started blogging! I read like 40-ish books from January-June, then in just the month of July I read like 15! I hadn't even realize how much I'd been reading until I looked back through my reviews at the end of the month.

That's how it was in my 2nd year of blogging. I read about 10 books a month. Now, I've been reading the same book for a month. Drastic decrease.

Interesting point on the contest entries! Makes sense although I never really thought about it. :P

I actually find I read less now, because I'm blogging and looking at other's blogs. I've always read a lot, so blogging cuts down on my actual reading time. I don't mind though.

I read less now that I blog during the school year! School just started and I can tell that there are gonna be less weekday posts unless I write them ahead of time.
You're so lucky you start in Sept.!

Reading is about the same, but I'm getting much less sleep. And I agree that if everyone did the things to get the extra entries it wouldn't be beneficial, but I find most of the time not everyone does them, which gives me an extra chance.
